Capital expenditure in the European upstream oil sector will decline significantly in the next two years as a result of the recent sharp drop in crude prices, Goldman Sachs says in a note. "European majors would need to cut their capex budgets by 24% at a $80/bl Brent price and by 32% at a $70/bl price in order to achieve a free cash flow yield of 4.5% by 2018," Goldman writes.
